Car bomb attack in central Pakistan kills at least 20 people and wounds more than 50

A car bomb attack in central Pakistan has killed at least 20 people and wounded as many as 50 more, reports from the area claim.

The blast in Dera Ghazi Khan is the latest in a series of attacks in the country, which have left hundreds dead.

Tuesday’s attack is believed to have been in a market near to the home of a provincial official, with reports claiming the blast came from a car bomb. Rescue workers are currently working to find people trapped underneath rubble in the town.

British reporters at the scene say the house of a senior provincial government adviser, Zulfiqar Khosa, was damaged in the blast but he was not among the injured.

Mr Khosa told CNN that none of his family members were in the house when the attack occurred. He also said that he had never before received any threats against his life.ADNFCR-2262-ID-19514439-ADNFCR
