Celtic have signed striker Marc-Antoine Fortune from French side AS Nancy on a three year deal.
Fortune, who spent the second half of last season on loan at West Bromwich Albion, will cost the Bhoys £3.8 million.
Hull City were also reportedly interested in the 28-year-old and had matched Nancy’s asking price but Fortune said he always favoured a move north of the boarder.
"This is where I want to be," said Fortune. "Having met the people at the club and knowing all about the club’s fantastic pedigree and support, this is where I saw my future."
Working with Celtic boss Tony Mowbray at West Brom last season also helped convince him that he should join Celtic ahead of the Tigers.
He added: "I am looking forward to the challenge of winning the league title, competing for the cups and playing in Europe, in front of the Celtic supporters.
"I am also looking forward to working with my manager, Tony Mowbray, once again."
Fortune scored five goals during his spell at the Hawthornes and Mowbray believes those six months acclimatising to British football will benefit the striker in the coming season.
"Some of his play in the second half of the season was phenomenal and, if you look at our goals ratio as a team after he joined, you can see the impact he made," said Mowbray.
"He is a team player, we were delighted with the way he performed in the Premiership and are looking forward to working with him at Celtic."
Celtic are also believed to be close to signing Nancy midfielder Landry N’Guemo on a season-long loan deal.
