A group linked to al-Qaida has claimed responsibility for attacks in the Iraqi capital Baghdad which left scores of people dead.
The Islamic State of Iraq (ISI) issued a statement on a jihadist website used by militants saying it was behind the attacks, reports claimed.
The attacks on Tuesday left 127 people dead and another 400 wounded after four connected suicide bombings in Baghdad.
The statement on the website was translated as saying the attack had "targeted the headquarters of evil, the nests of non-belief", adding "the list of targets will not end".
Violence across Iraq dropped dramatically last month, with the lowest number of fatal attacks recorded since the 2003 invasion.
The ISI’s claim came as US defence secretary Robert Gates arrived in Baghdad after a two-day trip to Afghanistan.
